Mali Legend Momo Sissoko joins Serie B club
Malian midfielder Mohamed ‘Momo’ Sissoko has signed for Italian second-tier Ternana Calico on a free transfer move.
The former Juventus, Liverpool and PSG player will be playing for Ternana till the end of the season as announced by the club.
“My first impressions are very positive, talking with team manager I got to appreciate what I was asked and here I am,” the 32-year-old said in his presentation conference.
Sissoko, who also played for Valencia, Fiorentina and Levante, was a free agent after he left Indian side FC Pune City which he joined in October last year. Ternana is hoping that Sissoko will help the team avoid relegation as they are currently in the 21st place in the 22-team table in Serie B.
“I really wanted to go back to Italy because here I grew a lot as a man and as a player. I had other chances, both in Italy and abroad, but I chose Ternana, although I have never played in B,” he added.
The international Malian made 34 appearances for Mali scoring twice and 87 appearances for Liverpool between 2005 and 2008.
