Enugu Rangers chief executive Christian Chukwu admitted they respect their CAF Champions League opponents Zamalek but insisted they are not afraid of them.

The Nigerian side will travel to face the 2016 Champions League runners-up in the first leg of the round of 32 on March 12 before hosting the return leg a week later.

Former Enugu Rangers coach: Zamalek are not invincible

“We are fully ready for Zamalek. We respect them but we are not afraid of them. We have already started preparation ahead of that encounter,” Chukwu said.

“The match against JS Saoura of Algeria was an eye opener and it has put our players in continental mood,” he added.

The Flying Antelopes, who qualified to the Champions League as the 2016 Nigerian league champions, drew 1-1 against Algeria’s JS Saoura away from home in the preliminary round, before drawing 0-0 in Nigeria to progress to the next stage by the away goals rule.
