Ghana who have been without a coach since Avram Grant’s depature could do well to consider an Italian manager linked with the job.

An individual said to be his representative in the country, spoke of the Italian’s ability to “scout and develop players.”

Despite the failures of Grant, chances that the next coach of Ghana will be a foreigner remains high. A search committee tasked with finding the next coach said they would not distinguish nationalities but would only consider track record.

This 6-man committee by the Ghana Football Associating picked an interim head coach and promised to announce the permanent coach before resumption of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Italian, Fabrizio Ravanelli could be the name to be announced. The 48 year old played for Juventus and Lazio. He was also famed in his time with Middlesbrough.

His coaching career has fewer limelights though. He had coached the Juventus youth team and France Ligue 1 team, Ajaccio.

I have dedicated part of my time in this bad world to following African football. From CECAFA to WAFU, COSAFA to UNAF & even the forgotten UNIFFAC.
