Egypt’s Marwan ElShorbagy continues his unbelievable run in the Windy City Open Squash and reaches his first world series final after he defeated Ali Farag (11-8, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9).

Marwan will face France’s Gregory Gaultier in the final.

“It was very hard to back up what happened yesterday. I didn’t sleep very well last night and I tried to stay away from my phone” said ElShorbagy Junior after his match.

He added, “My brother called me before the match and helped me, prepared me for it – he gave me the game plan.”

“I’ve had some good wins so far to reach the final but I want to keep it going. I really want that title.”

In the women’s draw, Nour El Sherbini sets an all-Egyptian final after she beat Camille Serme 3-1 (8-11, 11-3, 11-6, 11-4).

“There are no expectations for me tomorrow – I’ll do my best to win. I’m happy to be in the final, I love playing her and I’m really happy that it’s going to be an all-Egyptian final.”

Nour will play Raneem El Welily, defending champion, in a repeat to last year’s final where Raneem defeated Nour.

Raneem defeated compatriot Nouran Gohar in a thrilling 3-2 match (7-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-5, 11-9)

Raneem said after her match, “I love it here in Chicago. It’s amazing to be in the final for a fourth time – there’s no pressure tomorrow but it would be fantastic to win here for the third time.”
