Zamalek slam ‘unjust’ referee Grisha after Maqassa defeat
Zamalek slammed referee Gehad Grisha after the latter’s inability to award the Whites an obvious penalty as they lost to Misr El-Maqassa.
Misr El-Maqassa defeated Zamalek 1-0 on Friday under controversial circumstances, as Maqassa defender Ahmed Samy blantantly punched the ball away inside the penalty area with 66 minutes played.
Zamalek board member Hany Zada commented on Greisha’s penalty call: “An unfair referee lead us to this loss today.”
“I don’t know how he even got an international license,” Zada exclaimed.
Zamalek players withdrew in minute 92 as a response for this mistake before they were back to the match again after a couple of minutes.
After this win, El-Maqassa remain in second place with 45 points, while Zamalek sit in third with 40 points from 19 matches.
