Egypt international Karim Hafez assisted twice as Lens fought back to beat Red Star on Friday, in Ligue 2 action.

DR Congo attacker Anatole Ngamukol put the hosts in front just 13 minutes prior to halftime.

Six minutes into the second half, French midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud brought Lens level, after a fine assist by Hafez.

Abdoulaye Sané then put his name on the scoresheet to restore Red Star’s lead.

Three minutes before the end of regulation time, however, Mouhamadou Habibou restored parity for Lens.

The winner came in the second minute of additional time; Karim Hafez set up Cristian López, who sealed a hugely important comeback win for Lens.

After this win, Lens are second in the league standings with 46 points, just three behind leaders Brest.
