Marko Arnautovic: Ramadan Sobhi is like my little brother
Stoke City and Austria national team forward Marko Arnautovic spoke about his relationship with winger Ramadan Sobhi and how he makes sure the club makes the best out of the youngster’s talent.
Arnautovic’s praise comes after Sobhi’s impressive performance in Stoke’s 2-0 triumph over Middlesbrough in the league. The pair’s compatibility helped the Potters sweep Middlesbrough as Arnautovic scored the team’s two goals.
“Ramadan is improving every game,” he said. “He is like my little brother. I try to talk to him, he talks with me a lot and he’s an amazing player, that’s why we bought him. We know what he’s capable of.”
The 27-year-old forward is excited about Sobhi’s talent and he has been helping the young Pharaoh adapt to the English culture and to playing in one of the world’s highest pressure league.
“He’s improving his English. He’s a young kid who wants to learn a lot and I appreciate him because it’s not easy to come from Egypt to England alone as a 19-year-old kid into this kind of pressure. But he’s doing well and I’m very pleased with him. He has a big career in front of him but he can learn a lot more,” he added.
Since his move from Al Ahly last summer, this is the first time Sobhi start three games in a row. He is now becoming one of coach Mark Hughes’ primary players.
