Stoke City captain Shawcross heaps praise on ‘talented’ Sobhi

Stoke City’s captain and defender Ryan Shawcross praised his Egyptian teammate after the team’s victory against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Sobhi played the full 90 minutes and produced a lot of chances as secured an easy 2-0 win over visitors Middlesbrough. Coach Mark Hughes also praised the youngster after his latest performance.

“We’ve got a good player there,” said Shawcross. “He’s got a lot of talent and he’s only young so he’s only going to get better. He’s at the right club to nurture him and hopefully he will turn out to be a top player.”

The Potters are currently ninth in the league standings on 35 points and will travel to the Etihad stadium on March 8, to take on title hopefuls Manchester City.
