Volleyball: Tala’a El-Gaish crowned league champions
Tala’a El-Gaish won the Egyptian Volleyball League title for the second consecutive time after defeating Al Ahly 1-3 in the final match.
The African and Egyptian champion led the game winning the first and second sets 21-25 and 23-25. The Red Devils then managed to stop Tala’a El-Gaish’s edge and won the third set 13-25, raising their hopes to get back to the game.
However, El-Gaish were not going to give away their title that easy, as they snatched the game winning the fourth set 16-25.
“Beating Al Ahly and winning the league title is the best response for those who are doubtful about the team’s capabilities,” said former Al Ahly player and current Tala’a El-Gaish star.
El-Gaish finished the league in first place with 40 points leaving Al Ahly in second place with 38 points.
