El-Badry: We have no intention of letting Ali Maaloul go
Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has rubbished talks of Ali Maaloul leaving the club in the summer as he keen to keep hold of him.
Tunisia’s Al Chourouk newspaper reported that Al Ahly have put a $7m price tag on the Tunisian left-back, during a meeting between club president Mahmoud Taher and Hossam El-Badry, but the latter has dismissed these reports.
“We have no intention of letting Ali Maaloul go. I was surprised to hear that as we haven’t talked about it with the board,” El-Badry said.
“We have goals to achieve right now, which are knowing how to compete for trophies and winning them,” he added.
Hossam El-Badry is not the first one to dismiss several reports linking the full-back to his country, as Al Ahly director of football Sayed Abdel-Hafiz had previously insisted that Maaloul would remain in Egypt until the end of his contract.
The 27-year-old has made 17 appearances since joining the Red Devils last summer from CS Sfaxien, scoring only once and assisting four times.
