Mortada Mansour: I don’t mind replaying Super Cup match
Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour said that he does not mind replaying the Super Cup match against Al Ahly if the Red Devils requested this and the Egyptian Football Association approved their request.
After a controversial match between the White Knights and Misr El-Maqassa in which referee Gehad Freisha failed to grant Zamalek a clear and justified penalty kick and the team lost 0-1, Mansour announced that his club will not continue the league unless the match is replayed.
On the other side, a few Al Ahly officials referred to a deserved penalty kick in the Super Cup match which the Red Castle lost on penalties, assuring that this does not mean that they will request a replay.
“I have no problem replaying the Super Cup match,” Mansour said to Dream TV. “If Al Ahly requests that and believe they have the right to replay the match because of an unawarded penalty kick I won’t mind if EFA approves.”
