Mortada Mansour: I contacted FIFA to cancel the Egyptian Premier League
Zamalek chairman, Mortada Mansour, has claimed to have sent a dossier to FIFA in order to cancel this season of the Egyptian Premier League.
In statements made to Nagham FM radio station, Zamalek chairman claims to have prepared a dossier containing all the refereeing calls made against the club this season after the controversial incident which occurred in Zamalek’s 1-0 defeat to Misr El-Maqassa.
The incident of note is when Maqassa defender Ahmed Samy punched the ball away inside the penalty area, but the referee didn’t award Zamalek a penalty.
Mortada Mansour has since caused massive controversy with Zamalek forfeiting the match before returning minutes later and him threatening to withdraw from the league.
Mansour has also said: “I have sent to FIFA documents to prove changes in the competition’s regulations after it has commenced by cancelling the ‘no player exchange clause’ which Zamalek hasn’t benefited from.
“The competition should be nullified as I have what proves that the clause was in the regulations from the start of the season and that the General Assembly never agreed to the decision to cancel that clause.”
