Senegal will face hosts Zambia in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations final after beating Guinea 1-0 in the semi-final on Thursday.

Both sides had many early chances, however, Senegal were able to go ahead early on, when Aliou Badji scored a header after 12 minutes.

Guinea hit the post twice in the following 20 minutes. In the last seconds of the first half, the Senegalese were awarded a penalty, but Guinea’s keeper Moussa Camara saved Ibrahim Niane’s effort to keep his side in the game.

Neither side was able to take advantage of their chances during the second half as the Young Lions of Teranga edged Guinea to secure a spot in the final.

Zambia, who defeated South Africa in the other semi-final, will face Senegal in the tournament’s final, while Guinea will play South Africa in the third-place match on Sunday.
