EXCLUSIVE | Paul Aigbogun advices Rangers ahead of Zamalek clash

Former FC Enyimba boss Paul Aigbogun has his say on Enugu Rangers’ encounter in the CAF Champions League against African giants Zamalek SC.

The White Knights are set to host the Nigerian league Champions on the 12th of March in Cairo as they look to qualify to the competition’s group stages.

Aigbogun is much acquainted with Zamalek, having battled out slim 1-0 losses with Enyimba in last season’s CAF Champions League group stages over both legs as the Cairo giants went on to reach the final.

Speaking to KingFut, Aigbogun sheds light on what Rangers should expect from the encounter.

“It’s going to be tough in Egypt against Zamalek. Rangers need to be at there best to give themselves a good chance in Nigeria,” said Aigbogun.

Zamalek were given clearance by the Ministry of Interior to host Five thousand fans for the match-up, something which Aigbogun is wary of.

“Against them you are not only playing against the team but also the crowd. Defensively Ranges need to be organised and compact, taking advantage of any opportunities.

The former People’s Elephant boss refused to single out praise for a single player from Zamalek, saying: “There are a number of players in Zamalek’s attack, the result will be difficult to say but I must favour Rangers.”
