EFA appeals Egypt’s SAC’s ruling to dissolve board of directors
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) released a statement on Monday announcing its decision to appeal the Supreme Administrative Court’s (SAC) decision to dissolve the EFA’s Board of Directors and halt any legal advancements.
The Supreme Administrative Court had ruled on Sunday to dissolve the EFA’s Board of Directors and appoint Tharwat Sweilam as the interim president, after reviewing a lawsuit that challenged the legitimacy of the most elections held on August 30 of last year.
The EFA’s decision came after its legal committee reviewed the SAC’s ruling, which included a statement that stopped the release of the election results. The EFA, led by Hany Abou-Rida, also announced its decision to appeal to stop the execution and the advancements of the ruling until the matter is discussed by the legal commissioner and its committee.
The EFA also appealed the decision released on Sunday to the Supreme Administrative Court.
