Squash: Egypt’s Nour El Sherbini tops World Championship draw
A total of nine Egyptians will take part in the 2017 Orascom Development PSA Women’s World Championship, which will be held at El Gouna, Egypt from April 7-14.
Egypt’s Nour El Sherbini has been seeded number one for the championship. The World No.1 will play her opening game on April 7, when she’ll begin defending her title against a qualifier in round one.
The opponent of Egypt’s World No.13 Nour El-Tayeb is also still unknown, while her compatriot Zeina Mickawy will be playing on the same day against England’s Victoria Lust. Nadine Shahin will face World No.4 Nouran Gohar in an all-Egyptian clash.
During the second day, World No.3 Raneem EL Welily, who has most recently won the Windy City Open title, is going to face Jenny Duncalf of England. Egypt’s Heba El Torky will play against New Zealand’s Joelle King, while Mariam Metwally will face England’s World No.5 Laura Massaro.
The final match of round one will be between Egypt’s Salma Hany Ibrahim and World No.2 Camille Serme.
