Egyptian Football Association ‘EFA’ chairman assured that the Confederation of African Football ‘CAF’ headquarters will remain in Cairo and that the topic is not on the table.

News circulated recently stating that CAF president, Issa Hayatou, intends to discuss this topic during the next general assembly after his clash with Egyptian authorities as the Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA) referred Hayatou to prosecution over charges of abusing his position and violating competition regulations.

On the other side of the conflict, CAF denied corruption accusations and asserted it hasn’t been officially informed about the referral of its president.

“The news about moving CAF headquarters from Egypt to Morocco is untrue and groundless,” Abou-Rida said from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. “None of our African companions discussed this in anyway.”

Addis Ababa is hosting the two-day event in which various issues and topics concerning football development across the continent will be discussed, in addition to the awaited presidential elections.
