Elmohamady: Marco Silva wished me good luck before AFCON final
Egypt international and Hull City right-back Ahmed Elmohamady revealed how Marco Silva has rejuvenated Hull to end their poor run of results.
Following the change of managerial roles at Hull, Elmohamady had not met with the Portugese manager yet at the time as he was away on international duty for the African Cup of Nations in Gabon.
In an interview with Yorkshirepost, Elmohamady said “Marco Silva called me before the final with Cameroon to wish me good luck, it was a really nice gesture of him knowing we hadn’t seen each other yet.”
“When I came back from Gabon everything felt different at the club, it almost felt like a new one. The confidence in the team was massively changed. Everyone in the training camp started believing again” the 28-year-old added.
The right-footed fullback also commented on their latest 2-1 win over Swansea: “The win over Swansea was great for us because we were at home and desperately needed the three points.”
“We need to prepare for a huge week ahead of us as we face Everton at Goodison Park and we want another win” he concluded.
