Salah’s AS Roma announce United States summer tour
AS Roma announced that the team will be taking part in the 2017 International Champions Cup in the United States this summer as part of their pre-season tour.
The club will head to North America for the second consecutive year in July before the new season starts as they will be facing Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain.
“It’s an opportunity to showcase Roma on the international stage and I’m especially happy we’re playing in the United States again, so we can deepen the bond between the club and our American supporters,” said Jim Pallotta president of AS Roma to their official website.
The Giallorossi will open the tournament as they face Paris Saint-Germain in the opening match on July 19. They will also close the tournament when they play against Serie A rivals Juventus at Gillette Stadium on July 30.
“It’s an honor for Roma to be back competing in the International Champions Cup, alongside the best teams in world football,” the president added.
In this tournament, each team competing will play three games, with three points awarded for a win. Matches that end with a tie will immediately go to a penalty shootout after the second half ends with the winning side earning two points and the losers one point. The team with the most points will be awarded the International Champions Cup title.
