Zamalek manager Mohamed Helmy has announced his decision to step down from his post, after a lack of support from the club’s board.

Board member Ahmed Mortada Mansour had previously announced that the Whites were looking for a foreigner to replace Helmy as manager, following a string of disappointing results in the Egyptian Premier League.

“I have informed board member Hany Zada of my decision to leave in order to take the pressure off of club officials,” Helmy told YallaKora on Saturday.
