Zamalek board member Ahmed Mortada Mansour has revealed the three candidates that could replace Mohamed Helmy this season.

The Whites’ chairman Mortada Mansour announced earlier that Helmy and Zamalek has parted ways after a series of disappointing performances, which saw the team sitting third in the Egyptian Premier League.

After that news, Ahmed Mortada has revealed that Mali’s national team manager Alain Giresse is their number one option, but added that the former France international is not the only one in the job race.

“Alain Giresse is the main candidate to take over at Zamalek. The negotiations are well underway and He really wants the job,” Ahmed Mansour told TV channel Dream.

“The second candidate, who wants to manage Zamalek as well, is Portugal’s Augusto Inácio and our third options is Ricardo Sá Pinto, who is a bit younger,” he added.

Former Sporting Lisbon manager Augusto Inácio currently manages Primeira Liga relegation contenders Moreirense, and has previously managed Portuguese sides Marítimo, Vitória Guimarães, and Qatari side Al-Ahli .

Meanwhile, Pinto is the current manager of Greek club Atromitos FC, who are eighth in the Greek Super League, and had managerial stints at Sporting Lisbon, Red Star Belgrade, and Saudi side Al Fateh.
