Coulibaly pleased with friendly performance, seeks playing time
Al Ahly striker Souleymane Coulibaly was pleased with his performance against Sokar El-Hawamdia on Sunday, and expressed his desire for more minutes on the pitch.
Coulibaly played all 90 minutes in the friendly fixture, scoring a goal in his side’s 3-0 win over the third division club.
“I’m pleased with my performance throughout the match; I gave maximum effort for the team and hope to continue doing so,” the 22-year-old told Al Ahly TV.
He then refuted claims of an issue with Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry.
“Today I participated, and had several opportunities, but I don’t want to be on the sidelines; I want to play every match,” he admitted.
“I’m fighting for [the fans], I want to continue to play and score to bring you happiness, not for my sake,” Coulibaly concluded.
