Hector Cuper: Bassem Morsy can rejoin national team
Egypt national team head coach Hector Cuper discussed Bassem Morsy’s situation with the Pharaohs assuring that the striker can rejoin the team in the future.
Zamalek’s Bassem Morsy was eliminated from the national team final squad list that participated in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon after falling out with the coaching staff. The 25-year-old striker has then expressed his frustration and sadness after this decision.
“There are no disputes with Morsy,” the Argentinian coach confirmed to On Sport TV channel. “We include players who shine with their clubs and Morsy is required to perform well with Zamalek and to score to be included in the squad.”
The coach confirmed that the national team will welcome all players who shine with their clubs and develop their performances.
“I have no previous conflicts with any players, I am only thinking about winning to make Egyptians happy again,” he concluded.
Egypt is getting ready to face Togo in a friendly in preparation for the team’s away match against Tunisia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Pharaohs were drawn in Group J alongside Tunisia, Niger and Swaziland.
