Egypt’s general prosecutor reopens the Air Defence Stadium case
Egypt’s general prosecutor has decided to reopen the investigations with Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour into the murder of 20 fans in Air Defence stadium.
Mortada has been accused of involvement with the death of 20 Zamalek fans, but was proved innocent last July, however, the case has been reopened after the martyrs’ families filed a lawsuit.
The Whites’ fans were murdered at the Air Defence stadium before their side’s game against ENPPI in the Premier League due to suffocation, and Egypt’s court has accepted their families lawsuit.
Since this incident, which occurred on February 8 2015, the league’s crowd ban continued until this day, despite the authorities accepting the attendance of the fans in the continental matches.
