Mortada: Alain Giresse has agreed to manage Zamalek
Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour has revealed that Mali manager Alain Giresse has agreed to manage the Whites this season.
Board member Ahmed Mortada Mansour has named the shortlist of candidates, who could replace Mohamed Helmy this season, and it included Giresse and two other Portuguese managers.
“Alain Giresse has agreed to manage Zamalek. He wants a salary of $50 thousand for himself and his assistant,” Mortada told radio program “El-Kora feh malabak”.
“We offered him $40 thousand and will send him an E-mail with our latest offer. If Giresse accepted the offer, we will meet him in UAE,” he added.
Mortada has also added that 62-year-old Augusto Inácio has agreed to manage the Whites, and will take over at Zamalek if Giresse refused the offer.
“Augusto Inácio will take over as Zamalek manager if Giresse refused our offer, as the Portuguese accepted the $40 thousand offer and will come with the three assistants,” Mortada concluded.
Former Sporting Lisbon manager Augusto Inácio currently manages Primeira Liga relegation contenders Moreirense, and has previously managed Portuguese sides Marítimo, Vitória Guimarães, and Qatari side Al-Ahli .
