Al Ahly’s Ahmed Adel: Ekramy is the best goalkeeper in Egypt
Al Ahly goalkeeper Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneim praised his teammate Sherif Ekramy, describing him as the best goalkeeper in Egypt.
The back-up keeper, who has been getting minimal game time with Al Ahly, revealed that he hasn’t thought of leaving his boyhood club after Ismaily goalkeeper Mosaad Awad joined the Red Castle in 2013.
“I’m thinking about retiring in Al Ahly shirt. And yes, Al Ahly now have the best goalkeepers in Egypt,” Adel said in an interview with DMC satellite channel.
“Right now, Sherif Ekramy is the best goalkeeper in Egypt, Ahmed Hegazy is better than [Zamalek’s] Ali Gabr and [Al Ahly’s] Saad Samir and Amr Gamal is better than [ENPPI’s] Amr Marei and [Zamalek’s] Bassem Morsy,” said Adel.
He also believes that his teammate Abdallah El-Said is the best player in Egypt, saying that he’s better than Zamalek’s Ayman Hefny and Misr El-Maqassa Ahmed El-Sheikh, who is on loan from Al Ahly.
The 29-year-old keeper also praised Egypt’s legendary keeper and former Al Ahly captain Essam El-Hadary, saying that the 44-year-old keeper is an example of determination.
