Alain Giresse’s agent confirms Zamalek negotiations
Agent of Alain Giresse has confirmed that the French coach is in negotiations with Egyptian side Zamalek.
Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour announced earlier that they’re looking to appoint a foreigner to replace Mohamed Helmy as manager after the former Zamalek player announced his decision to step down from his post.
Mansour also added that Mali manager Alain Giresse has agreed to manage Zamalek, but requested a salary of $50,000 for himself and his assistant, while Zamalek offered him $40,000.
Agent of Giresse, Joe Kamga, confirmed negotiations with Zamalek but refused to reveal the names of the White Castle’s representatives.
“Zamalek and Al Ahly are big clubs in the continent. It’s an honour for any manager to coach any of them,” Kamga told Sports and Youth Radio channel.
The White Castle chairman had previously revealed that Portugal’s Augusto Inácio is among the candidates for the Zamalek job and that he would coach the team in case Giresse’s deal fell through.
Zamalek currently sit third on the Egyptian Premier League table on 40 points, 12 behind leaders Al Ahly who played an extra game.
