Warda vows to fight for regular spot in Egypt squad

Egypt and PAOK FC attacking midfielder Amr Warda assured that he is aiming to continue playing in Europe and wants to secure his spot with the Pharaohs.

Warda took part in Egypt’s easy 3-0 win over Togo in a friendly match at Borg El Arab Stadium on Tuesday.

“This is the first training camp for the national team after the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon. Thankfully, we performed well,” he told ON Sport TV channel. “Even though it was a friendly match but players fought for the win.”

“I am doing my best when it comes to training with the team and with my club to secure a spot in Egypt’s squad,” he added. “In the end winning and making our fans happy is the most important thing.”

The former Al Ahly youth product currently plays for PAOK in the Greek Superleague. The team is third with 46 points only two points behind second Panionios and eight points behind leaders Olympiacos.

“Moving to PAOK was a big step in my career. I am really happy there and I’m taking it one step at a time,” he explained. “I am currently focused on playing more games and want to continue playing abroad, this will help me earn my spot with the national team.”

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
