Elmohamady: Egypt closer than ever to reaching World Cup
Egypt national team and Hull City right back Ahmed Elmohamady discussed the importance of overcoming the next phase and assured that qualifying for the World Cup is getting closer.
Elmohamady took part in Egypt’s 3-0 win against Togo in a friendly played at Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria on Tuesday as part of the Pharaohs’ preparations for the 2019 African Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers.
“The next phase for us will be harder, but qualifying for the World Cup is becoming close, closer than it ever was,” Elmohamady told ON Sport TV channel. “I played with Egypt in previous World Cup qualifiers and I can tell that this time we have a much better chance.”
The 29-year-old player backed his opinion by assuring that the current players possess the necessary experiences especially after reaching the final match in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
