Ahmed Hassan: Salah has surpassed every Egyptian player
Former Egypt international Ahmed Hassan believes that Mohamed Salah is the best Egyptian player, adding that Ramdan Sobhi could follow his footsteps.
The 41-year-old has praised the Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny, Trezeguet, Ramadan Sobhi, and Mohamed Salah, but called the latter Egypt’s best player due to his impressive career abroad.
“Salah is currently the best Egyptian player, he has already surpassed every Egyptian footballer after his impressive professional career abroad,” Hassan told CBC.
“Ramadan Sobhi is able to follow his footsteps. Mohamed Elneny and Trezeguet are also having an amazing career and they are on the their way to surpass many of us,” he added.
The most-capped international player also believes that Egyptian Premier League players are having problems in showing consistency with many players aren’t capable of impressing for a whole season.
“I can’t say who is the best player in the league this season. It isn’t clear for me, you need to see players who play well for the whole season in order to judge,” the former Anderlecht player said.
“There are no consistent performances this season, players can play five good games and show nothing for the following games,” Ahmed Hassan concluded.
