OFFICIAL: Mohamed Youssef leaves Al Shorta by mutual consent
Iraqi side Al-Shorta have terminated the contract of Egyptian manager Mohamed Youssef by mutual consent.
The 46-year-old was appointed as the Iraqi side manager for the second time last June, and led the club to third place in the Iraqi Premier League after 23 games this season.
Youssef, who led the Al Ahly to the CAF Champions League title in 2013, was in charge of the club in 2015 but was sacked due to absence without permission and poor results in the AFC Cup.
Former Iraq Olympic team manager Nadhum Shaker will take over as the club’s new manager, as they aim to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2014.
Al Shorta are currently third in the Iraqi Premier League with 45 points, two points behind leaders Al Naft.
