Agent hits out at Ramadan Sobhi’s critics
The Egypt international was widely praised by his teammates and Stoke City manager Mark Hughes following his recent performances with the Potters.
Sobhi’s agent, Nader Shawky, said in a radio interview that a certain pundit has been criticizing the 20-year-old. He added that the player should be supported in Egypt, and not criticized.
“This is nonsense, Ramadan is a major talent and he is representing Egypt now,” Shawky said.
TV host and former Zamalek player Khaled El-Ghandour said that Sobhi didn’t deliver a convincing performance in Egypt’s friendly match against Togo. He added that he believes the former Al Ahly player didn’t impress with the English Premier League side.
Ghandour added that Sobhi’s talent is almost hidden as he has been taking on a more defensive role at Stoke City, when he has a greater value in the final third of the pitch.
Ramadan has already played 15 matches with the Potters, failing to score so far but already delivering two assists.
