Elneny watches Arsenal draw with Man City at the Emirates
Mohamed Elneny’s Arsenal didn’t take advantage of Manchester United’s slip on Saturday, as the Gunners remain sixth in the English premier league table.
Arsenal’s starting XI: Ospina, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Xhaka, Coquelin, Walcott, Ozil, Alexis, Welbeck.
Manchester City’s starting XI: Caballero, Clichy, Stones, Otamendi, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Sané, Silva, Sterling, Navas, Aguero.
The game started with high intensity from both sides, but the visitors managed to open the scoreline in the fifth minute, after Sané converted De Bruyne’s assist and made it 1-0 to the Citizens.
Arsenal responded in the 40th minute, as Theo Walcott capitalised on Clichy’s error to equalise for the Gunners, but Aguero restored the lead for Manchester City two minutes later.
The second-half started and Arsenal played very directly on Manchester City’s goal trying to equalise and they got what they wanted, as Mustafi converted Ozil’s cross to make it 2-2 in the 53rd minute.
Arsenal are currently sixth in the English premier league with 51 points, but they have two games in hand. Their next game will be against West Ham United on Wednesday, April 5 at the Emirates Stadium.
