Mohamed Salah voted club’s player of the month
Egypt international Mohamed Salah has been named as AS Roma’s Player of the Month for March, in an award voted for by the club’s supporters.
The 24-year-old winger has put on a strong performance in March, scoring two goals against Lyon in the Europa League and Sassuolo in Serie A. He has had a splendid season so far, scoring 12 goals and making 11 assists in 32 matches.
Salah received the accolade, after the fans preferred him to the likes of Kevin Strootman, Edin Džeko, and Stephan El-Shaarawy, who were also nominated for the monthly award.
Roma currently sit second in the Serie A table, six points behind leaders and defending champions Juventus and they are set to host arch-rivals Lazio in Derby della Capitale on Tuesday in the return-leg of the Coppa Italia Semi-final.
The Giallorossi lost the first-leg 2-0 away from home, and they hope to overcome a two-goal deficit to reach their first Coppa Italia final since 2013, when they lost the title to their city rivals.
