Ahmed Hassan Koka undergoes successful abdominal surgery
Egypt international Ahmed Hassan Koka has successfully undergone a surgical construction to the abdominal wall and will start his recovery very soon, according to his current club, SC Braga.
The striker was initially ruled out of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against Burkina Faso due to a pelvic inflammation, which also kept him sidelined for the final match against Cameroon.
Koka’s recovery after the AFCON was succesful and he was back in action for Braga in early March, in a 3-1 win over Arouca, but his injury reappeared and put him on the sidelines once again. After the evaluation of the injury, the 24-year-old traveled to Barcelona and underwent an abdominal wall reconstruction surgery on Monday, that went as planned. The club statement also revealed that Koka is starting his recovery phase.
Braga currently sits in fourth place with 47 points, ten points below third-place Sporting, and level on points with Vitória SC.
