OFFICIAL: Zamalek appoint Augusto Inacio

Portuguese coach Augusto Inacio has officially put pen-to-paper as Zamalek’s new head coach following the dismissal of Mohamed Helmy.

Inacio will lead the Whites for one and a half season after an agreement was reached with the board on Tuesday, one day after he arrived in Cairo with his assistatn. The 62-year-old coach said upon his arrival that he is excited to start working with Zamalek and revealed that he will aim to achieve great goals with the team.

Inacio’s coaching career includes Portuguese clubs Rio Ave, Marítimo, Sporting CP and Moreirense. In addition to Qatar’s Al Ahli SC. He also worked as an assistant coach for Porto. The highlight of the coach’s career was last season after he successfully won the Taça da Liga or the Portuguese League Cup, the club’s first title, beating Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’s Braga in the final. He managed to win three titles as head coach and eight as an assistant coach.

Mohamed Salah is currently leading the White Knights and Inacio will soon take charge of Zamalek in the League, Egypt Cup and CAF Champions League tournaments.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
