Al Ahly defeated Kenya Prisons 3-1 on Friday in their first match at the Women’s Volleyball African Club Championship.
The first set was an easy ride for the Egyptian side as they claimed a 25-14 win. Prisons improved in the second set but Al Ahly still had the upper hand as they won 25-21, making it 2-0.
The Kenyan side then pulled one back, winning the third set at 18-25, before Al Ahly secured the victory with a comfortable 25-16 win in the fourth set.
Al Ahly, who were recently crowned Egypt Cup champions, were drawn in Pool B alongside Zimbabwe’s University, Marsa of Tunisia, Algeria’s Bejaia and Kenya Prisons. Marsa claimed an easy 3-0 victory over Bejaia in the other Group B match of the day.
