Al Ahly confirm Hegazy’s absence from Ittihad clash

Al Ahly’s football director, Sayed Abdel-Hafiz confirmed the absence of Ahmed Hegazy from Ittihad of Alexandria’s clash on Tuesday in the Egyptian Premier League.

Abdel-Hafiz stated, “The x-ray analysis showed a muscle strain in the hamstring due to fatigue and overtraining. Hegazy will undergo an intensive rehabilitation program in the upcoming days until he recovers from the injury.”

The 26-year-old defender got injured in Al Ahly’s last Premeir League against Petrojet after pounding with Petrojet’s James Teddy, to be carried outside in the 27th minute.

Al Ahly is set to face Ittihad of Alexandria in the 23rd round of the Egyptian Premier League, in hopes to keep the gap between second place, Mirs El-Maqassa, to seven points, while Ittihad currently lie in the 8th place on the table.
