Manchester City defeat Hull as Elmohamady scores an own goal
Ahmed Elmohamady scored the first goal of the game, an own goal, as Manchester City went on to defeat Hull City by a score of 3-1 as Hull continue their relegation battle.
The match was expectedly dominated by Manchester City, who controlled the game in all aspects from the start. In the 31st minute, a Jesus Navas cross was turned into the Hull net by Ahmed Elmohamady, who had Leroy Sane lurking behind him.
Hull reacted with their best moment of the game following the initial City goal, registering their only shot on target of the match, but they failed to equalize.
Afterwards, it was an onslaught from Manchester City who scored again through Sergio Aguero after an unfortunate bounce in Hull’s box from a good Raheem Sterling run. The 64th minute saw Fabian Delph effectively kill the game with City’s third goal, and he also won man of the match.
Andrea Ranocchia scored a late goal for Hull to deny City a clean sheet, but it will be of little consolation to Marco Silva and his side as they continue to battle relegation. They currently sit just two points clear of the relegation zone.
