Assiouty Sport star on Serbian clubs’ radars – Report
Serbian reports said that two clubs are watching Assiouty Sport and Egypt local team star Mohamed Antar.
According to Serbian outlet Blic Sport, these two clubs are Serbian SuperLeague tiers Voždovac and Partizan Belgrade. The clubs are monitoring Antar who plays for second division Assiouty Sport.
Blic Sport praised the 24-year-old player after he recently helped his team return to the Egyptian Premier League. Assiouty officially returned to the EPL on Thursday after finishing the season on top of the league with 68 points 15 points away from Sohag in second place.
Antar was featured in 22 matches this season and managed to score seven goals in addition to 12 assists. He is also part of Hany Ramzy’s locals national team squad. The report said that Antar’s style of play is similar to his fellow Egyptian talent Mohamed Salah.
The club’s investment manager Wael Habib said that Assiouty Sport received an offer from a Serbian club along with other offers from EPL sides as well.
The Assiut-based side were relegated from the Egyptian Premier League in 2015, winning only two games from 38 to finish 19th with 16 points, 31 points away from the safe zone. It will become Assiouty’s second season ever in the Egyptian Premier League, as the club were only founded in 2008, less than 10 years ago.
