Royal Mouscron lose to Eupen in UEFA Europa league playoffs
Egypt international Mahmoud Hassan ‘Trezeguet’ played the full 90 minutes as Royal Mouscron lost 2-0 to AS Eupen at home in their second match of the 2017 UEFA Europa League play-offs.
The visitors scored either side of half-time to claim a 2-0 victory and move into second place of their group on four points, two away from leaders Genk.
Eupen opened the scoring around the half-hour mark, as Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru gave his side a first-half lead.
Around 10 minutes into the second half, the guests doubled their lead courtesy of a goal from Senegalese forward Mamadou Sylla. Hosts Royal Mouscron could not even get a consolation goal as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at home.
Earlier in April, Royal Mouscron had lost 2-1 in their first group game against Kortrijk. They now sit bottom of the group with no points after two games.
The third round of playoffs fixtures sees Mouscron face fourth-placed Roeselare on April 15.
