Alaa Abdel-Aal has been named as El-Dakhleya manager following Ashraf Kassem’s departure on Monday.

Ashraf Kassem has resigned as manager of El-Dakhleya following a string of poor results, which left the team in the 16th place in the Egyptian Premier League.

Abdel-Aal was in charge of El-Dakhleya before resigning after receiving an offer from Dhofar SC of Oman but negotiations broke down to manage ENPPI instead.

However, he resigned last November after a run of poor results with the petroleum club to take charge of El-Sharkia, but won only once in six matches to return to his old club once again.

El-Dakhleya are facing the threat of relegation as they only managed to win one point from their last five league games, which made them fell down to the relegation zone, one point behind 15th-placed Aswan.

Alaa Abdel-Aal’s first game in charge will be against Entag El-Harby, who sit 13th in the league with 22 points. The game will take place at Gehaz El-Reyada Stadium on Sunday, April 16.
