VIDEO: Amr El-Sulaya scores as Al Ahly beat Ittihad of Alexandria

Amr El-Sulaya scored as Al Ahly defeated Ittihad of Alexandria one nil in the 23rd fixture of the Egyptian Premier league.

The Red Devils were aiming to secure the three points since the beginning of the game in order to move a step closer to the league title.

Al Ahly maintained position and applied pressure on the home-side aiming to score the first goal.

Amr El-Sulaya managed to open the scoreline just one minute before half-time, as he curved the ball past Ittihad’s goalkeeper making it one nil for the Reds.

Fifty-five minutes into the game, Abdallah El-Said nearly doubled Al Ahly’s lead through a freekick, however, his shot hit the bar.

Both teams failed to score further goals until the referee blew the fulltime whistle.

It is worth mentioning that Al Ahly have conceded just one goal over their last 1,440 minutes in the Egyptian Premier League.

Following the win, Al Ahly consolidate their position on the top of the league table with 61 points from 23 matches, while Ittihad of Alexandria occupy the ninth league spot with 30 points.
