Egypt’s Nour El Sherbini defeated compatriot Raneem El Welily 3-0 on Friday to retain her PSA Women’s World Championship title.

The World No.1 lifted the prestigious title after defeating World No.4 Welily (11-8, 11-9, 11-9) in 40 minutes in the final of the Orascom Development PSA Women’s World Championship held in Gouna.

World champion Sherbini, who become the youngest ever women’s world champion when she defeated Laura Massaro in the final last year, reached this year’s final after beating Egyptian World No.5 Nouran Gohar in the semi-final.

Meanwhile, Welily, who most recently claimed the Wadi Degla Open and the Al Ahram Open titles, had to overcome French World No.3 Camille Serme to secure her spot in the final.

The Egyptian duo faced each other in another final in March that saw Welily claim a 3-1 victory over the 21-year-old World Champion to win the Windy City Open title for the third time in a row.
