Egypt’s Mohamed Abdel-Shafy came on as a second-half substitute as Al Ahli drew 1-1 with Al Hilal in the 23rd fixture of the Saudi Pro League.

The Egypt international left-back started on the bench as Al Ahli faced Al Hilal away from home. League leaders Al Hilal dominated most of the match, as they maintained more position and created plenty of dangerous chances on goal.

Al Ahli’s most dangerous chance in the first half came through the league’s top scorer Omar Al Somah, as his shot hit the left post two minutes before the break.

Al Hilal nearly opened the scoreline in the 50th minute, however, Leo Bonati’s header was deflected off the left post.

Abdel-Shafy came on to replace Salman Muwasher with only nine minutes to go.

Both teams failed to score any goals until the referee blew the full-time whistle.

Following the draw, Al Hilal top the league table with 57 points, while Al Ahli sit fourth with 46 points.

Mohammed Salama is a 20-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
