Al Masry have been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday after losing on penalties against round of 32 opponents KCCA.

After their 1-0 defeat in Uganda, the Egyptian side scored at home to level the aggregate score before Kampala City Capital Authority (KCCA) won 4-3 on penalties to reach the group stage.

It took Al Masry 25 minutes to break the deadlock in Ismailia as a through pass from Ahmed Kaboria found Ahmed Gomaa who slotted past KCCA keeper Benjamin Ochan to make it 1-0 in favour of the Port Said-based side.

Both sides failed to add goals in the second half to leave it at 1-1 on aggregate and force a penalty shootout.

The Ugandan side emerged 4-3 winners on penalties after Al Masry’s Said Mourad and Ahmed Ayman Mansour failed to score in the shootout. This marks the first time KCCA have qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
