Mortada: Nobody can punish or dock points from Zamalek
Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour has revealed that his side won’t go to Petrosport to play the postponed game against Misr El-Maqassa on Sunday.
The game was to be played on April 15, but the EFA changed the date of the fixture, citing security reasons, as the match collided with the Coptic Christians Easter holiday celebration.
Zamalek has challenged this position and wrote letters to the EFA requesting postponement of the match to April 18. A joint letter, with Misr El-Maqassa, was also presented to the EFA, however El-Maqassa accepted the EFA decision later and went to Petrosport.
“El-Maqassa chairman pulled off his deal with me about not going to Petrosport. Why don’t he show up and inform us why changed his mind,” Mortada told Nile Sports.
“Head of the EFA Competitions Committee has decided to postpone the match without my knowledge. Nobody can punish or dock points from Zamalek. We will not play the match.
“We received the EFA letter late. We have players that are traveling and a manager who wants to celebrate his feast,” he added.
