Two Egyptian officials make final cut for U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon

The Confederation of African Football announced the final list for the 12th edition of the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations referees list which included two Egyptians.

The two Egyptian referees who made it to the list for the African championship are central referee Mohamed Maarouf Eid and assistant referee Mahmoud Abou-Elregal.

The AFCON was originally set to take place in Madagascar on 2 to 16 April 2017. However, the CAF Executive Committee withdrew hosting rights from Madagascar following the reports of the CAF inspection teams and gave it to Gabon who were selected as the new hosts. The tournament will start on May 14 till May 28.

Egypt’s U-17 national team were eliminated from the second round of the 2017 African U-17 Championship qualifiers by Ethiopia.
