Wadi Degla women crowned Egypt Cup champions
Wadi Degla’s women football team have won the Egypt Cup title for the sixth time in a row by beating Al Elamein 5-4 on penalties on Friday.
Wadi Degla’s women defeated Al Elamein and secured the Egypt Cup title to achieve the domestic double this season, after picking up the Egyptian league title couple of weeks ago.
The shootout came after 90 minutes of play, at the end of which the teams were deadlocked at 0-0, but Wadi Degla came out 5-4 winners after the penalties, to lift the domestic cup title.
The cup final took place at the Shooting club in 6 October, and was officiated by Amin Omar, who was assisted by Siham Fouad, Bosy Samir, and Shahenda Said.
