Zamalek have recorded back-to-back Premier League wins after defeating Al Masry 1-0 in the 24th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The Whites started the game with the same line-up that beat Tala’ea El-Gaish 3-0 last Wednesday and they snatched valuable three points from Al Masry to maintain their third place in the league.

Meanwhile, the Green Eagles started the game with youngster Ahmed Abdelfattah between the sticks, due to Ahmed Busca and Ramzi Saleh’s injury, and he had a debut to forget.

The 20-year-old tried to dribble past Shikabala in his own area only to be dispossessed by the Zamalek captain, who scored from close range, scoring the only goal of the game after just 10 minutes.

Al Masry’s first real chance of the game came in the 51st minute, when Abdallah Gomaa fired a shot from outside the box, but it went just wide.

In the 87th minute, Mostafa Fathy could have doubled his side’s lead, but his shot went strangely over the bar, ending the game 1-0 to the Whites.

With this win Zamalek are currently third with 46 points, three points above fourth-placed Al Masry. Their next game will be against Tanta on Friday, April 28 at El-Mahalla Stadium.
